Deccan Chargers:
Deccan Chargers is the franchise that will represent the city of Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. The team will be led by V.V.S. Laxman and coached by Robin Singh, previously the fielding coach of the Indian cricket team. There is no Icon Player for the team. The Deccan Chargers franchise is owned by Deccan Chronicle. The media group acquired the franchise from IPL for $107 million on January 24, 2008. Group M later picked a 20% stake.
About Players:
The Chargers were among the most aggressive bidders during the first Indian Premier League player auction. The franchise added a lot of explosive power in batting by acquiring some renowned big hitters like Adam Gilchrist, Andrew Symonds, Shahid Afridi, Scott Styris and Herschelle Gibbs. In addition to all these players, the franchise also includes the Indian test player V.V.S. Laxman, who is a Hyderabad local.
They are also employing the services of well-known pacer R.P. Singh, Ryan Harris, Kemar Roach It's been announced by the franchise that Laxman will captain the side during the tournament of 1st Edition but later Gilly take control over VVS and leading the team now.V.V.S. Laxman was supposed to be the Icon Player for the Deccan Chargers, but this meant that the players mentioned above could not be bought as Icon Player's earn 15% more than the next highest earner in the team. However, VVS Laxman relinquished his Icon Player Status, and instead of earning $1 million like other Icon players he earns $375,000, which allows the team to buy the big names and still remain under the salary cap.
They are the current holders of the IPL Trophy, winning the second season held in South Africa in 2009.
From 2009, the team is led by Adam Gilchrist and coached by Darren Lehmann, both former Australian Test & One-Day Cricketers.

DC SQUAD:
DC IN IPL 2008 :
This team was hot favorite in inaugural edition of IPL2008 because of team strength. But it all went reciprocal. They ended in last position of the 1st edition with more disappointing and they are not good in fielding and batting department. Mainly we can say that they r not coordinating with their teammates.
ABSENCE ROY IN FIRST EDITION:
DC IN IPL 2009:
After much excepted team in 1st Edition they faced hard time to do some thing in 2009 2nd Edition. This reflects changing the entire administration. They sacked their CEO J.Kalyankrishnan, Coach Robin Singh and the Captain V.V.S.Laxman and replaced them with Tim Wright (who later resigned after violating Foreigners Act), the former Australian batsman Darren Lehmann and former Australian Wicket-Keeper Adam Gilchrist respectively.
Hattrick from Rohit against MI
AGAINST KKR in LAST OVER ENCOUNTER:
With huge disappointment of the 1st edition they started 2009 IPL 2nd Edition with underrated team. They start their camp well by returning ROY, ROHIT and GILLY too. They had some luck through some matches such as MI were ROHIT took HATRICK and last over match ended while ROHIT hit 20 runs in MORTAZA(KKR) and etc…By winning matches in league rounds they reached Semi-Final. After reaching Semi-Final the team looks like an experienced team while leading by GILLY.
AGAINST DD IN SEMI-FINAL
In Semi-Final they faced DD who were top in table. Every one betted DD will win against DC but this time its GILLY scored 85 off 35 balls which helped DC through Final.
ROY CHERRING WITH GILLY AFTER TAKING IMPORTANT WICKETS
In Final DC face against BRC which both teams were ended with bottom of the team in last Edition (1st Edition). This time in a huge moment GILLY failed to score. BRC bowling made DC just a total of 143 for the loss of 6 wickets. DC then bowled really well and picked wickets in intervals were ROY picked some crucial wickets made DC CHAMPION OF 2009.
DC -IPL2010:
In the 3rd Edition of IPL auction, Deccan Chargers bought Kemar Roach for $720,000. Later Australia U-19 Captain Mitchell Marsh was signed up. Seven new domestic players were added to the roster, Anirudh Singh, Monish Mishra (also former ICL player) are the two batsmen, two all rounders Ashish Reddy, Bodapati Sumanth and a Spinner Rahul Sharma.
This time DC cant play their matches in homeground because of telanguna issue. Cuttak and Navi Mumbai are the ground were they going to play as home ground.
