The team has a great start to thier season when won they won four games on a trot but their top order and bowling attack had a setback after Mathew Hayden , Micheal Hussey and Jacob Oram left the team for international fixtures of their respective countries. It was clearly visible in team's performance as they lost their next three back to back games. The batting although got used to the losses of Hayden and Hussey with good performances from performances of Dhoni , Raina and Morkel. The absence of Oram’s from bowling lineup was eventually filled by the arrival of Makaya Ntini and Albie Morkel and the emergence of Manpreet Gony on big scene .
